A foreign person who invests the sum of three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000.00) in the purchase of a real estate property in the Republic of Panama, which must be free of encumbrances, will be eligible to apply for a permanent resident permit, as a qualified investor.
In the event that the applicant proves that he/she has paid the liquid sum of three hundred thousand dollars ($ 300,000.00), in a real estate property and this is of a higher value than required, he/she may finance the remainder through a mortgage loan with a local bank.
For applications processed through this type of investment, in addition to the requirements set out in this Executive Decree, certification from the Public Registry of Panama must be provided to prove ownership, and certification from the National Land Titling Authority to prove the value of the real estate.
